Hello, August!

I don't know about you guys, but I am rolling into August with a sigh of relief and a smile of anticipation!

After what was, for me, one of the most challenging months of July on record (damn you, Mercury Retrograde!), I am finally feeling some forward motion in my life. Sometimes we have to revisit old shit in order to clear it up for good and move to the next level of our personal growth and expansion. Forget waiting for New Years! It's time for some new goals!

In fact, I've talked to several people lately who are coming up with a list of mid-year goals for themselves. I find it interesting that a number of minds are all thinking along these lines at the same time. Anyway, my mid-year goals include revamping my overall health. I've gone a little crazy with some of my worst health habits due to an emotionally challenging summer, but now, I'm getting back on track and am using every ounce of willpower to smash them!

I'm also hitting the reset button on my reading and writing goals. I had been letting my summer reading slip, and that was partly due to being stuck in the middle of a book that was boring me. Life is too short to trudge through books that you aren't into! So I tossed that one, picked up a new one, happily read it in three days, and am now more eager to get on with the rest of my summer reading list.

As for writing projects, I'm gearing up for the release of my newest book, THE NEON FISHNETS, BOOK 1: PLAYING WITH FIRE. It's the first novel my first ever FF romance trilogy, and it centers around the sexy lives of the all-female fictional rock band The Neon Fishnets. Book 1 is from Jackie's point of view. She's the new bassist who has a less-than-friendly history with The Fishnets's keyboardist, Ivy. (Get ready, fans of the enemies-to-lovers trope! This one's sizzling!)

So what about you? How is your August starting off? Got any mid-year goals? Ready for Fall? Please leave a comment!

  1. I have always felt guilty about leaving a book unfinished (same with movies). But I think you are right Scarlett, life is just too short and I should abandon those guilty feelings. I will put my Origin of Middle East Cities back in the library and take advantage of August to write a bit, which gives me so much satisfaction.
All the best with your trilogy,
    Antonio
